Work. Work. Work. That’s what most of our lives revolve around. I know for me, I often get so focused on deadlines, tasks and emails that I lose sight of what life is really about: family and friends. At the end of the day, when 5 o’clock has come and gone, it’s important to take time to relax and unwind. We all know how important it is to have a girls night out every now and then.
I am very fortunate to be part of a great group of women in my job. When I moved here from Georgia, they all welcomed me with open arms and immediately made me feel like family. Even though we had all worked together via phone and email for a couple of years when I lived in Ohio, it was so comforting to know they were here for me in person once I arrived. They have also opened up our group to include my mom, which has been so wonderful!
What started out as occasional “get togethers” after work has now turned into what we have labeled “JUGS” outings. “JUGS” stands for “Just Us Girls”. “JUGS” encompasses a wonderful group of ladies that enjoy spending a few hours from time to time gossiping, sharing some wine and enjoying a nice evening out. Sometimes we gather at each other’s house and sometimes we try various restaurants around Atlanta. No matter the location, we always know we will have a fabulous time!
Last night we all gathered in downtown Buford, GA to enjoy a nice dinner at Aqua Terra Bistro. And of course, in typical “Kate” style, with perfect 7PM lighting and the beautiful brick walkways, I couldn’t resist making them all pose for a photo.
First, my mom grabbed a photo of me with the ladies, then I had her hop in and I took one of her with the ladies. We were missing one of our ladies, Kathy, as she has been traveling for work and is out of the country. We MISSED you Kathy and look forward to another gathering once you’re back in the U.S..

We enjoyed a wonderful dinner and the ladies surprised Ana and I with belated birthday surprises including balloons, singing and cakes for each of us! Thank you all so much! I feel truly blessed to have you all in my life.
