There are certain milestones in life that should be celebrated. Graduations.
Spiritual growth. Sweet 16. Turning 21. Turning 25 (yay, you can rent a car! ha ha). All those “firsts” in life.
Some milestones are things we feel like we look forward to FOREVER and are so happy when they finally arrive. But, some milestones we dread and can’t BELIEVE they arrive so quickly. Travis was not thrilled to be turning 30. Afterall, there is nothing new and exciting about this particular birthday. But, I insisted on celebrating. 30 is a big birthday and Travis has a lot to be proud of and celebrate this year!
As I’ve written about many times in the past, the hardest part of moving to Atlanta is we no longer have our close family and friends nearby. BUT, we have been so fortunate to have met new friends through our Small Group. I know I have written about them quite a bit in the past too, but, they have become our family here, in a place where we knew no one when we moved.
So, I planned a little cook-out at our house and invited our small group and their families to come over and celebrate Travis’ milestone birthday. We all had a wonderful time! We grilled out, played outside, sang to Travis, ate cake, and all the kids got goodie bags with fun toys. It was a beautiful afternoon!
Happy 30th Travis! You are a wonderful husband and new daddy and I feel so blessed to have you in my life. Cheers!
