This post is another one that has me getting all mushy. When I think back on my friendship with my best friend Emily, I think about all the laughs we’ve shared over the years. We’ve been friends since 7th grade, when I was the “new kid” since I had transferred schools. She was so kind and welcoming to me and we immediately connected. Through junior high and high school we remained close. We joked through French class together, hung out on weekends, and shared so many wonderful memories. Though we went our separate ways for college, we were always able to pick up where we left off, as if no time had passed. After college, I remember the specific moment when I told Emily I was moving away to Georgia, and how hard it was for both of us. I knew that distance wouldn’t impact our friendship though, and I was right! We continued to stay in touch and get together when we were both in town.
Now that I have moved back to Ohio, Em and I meet up for lunch as often as we can, and text or chat all the time. Emily is probably one of the most genuine people I know. She is always checking in to see how I’m doing, always so positive and supportive of everything going on in my life, and always there when I need to vent or complain. We’re both raising two kiddos and both specifically raising strong-willed 4-year-olds so it’s comforting to be able to share our struggles and successes with one another as moms, wives and professionals. (Side note: Speaking of her being a professional, she has published a children’s book! You HAVE to check out, and buy, the book she wrote…it would make a great gift for the little ones on your Christmas list this year…it’s funny, unique, and something EVERY kid will enjoy! My girls LOVE it!)
As much as I adore Emily, I also adore her husband Stephen. Not only was he our realtor through both selling and buying a home recently, and did an awesome job, but he’s become a dear friend to both Travis and myself. He is just as kind and genuine as Emily, and I adore spending time with their sweet family. Enjoy these photos of the whole clan!
Thank you all for a beautiful Saturday morning walk outside in such a beautiful location. I can’t wait to get together again soon.
